A 2020 Fall Trendboard: SSBYLM x The September Issue
A full fall fashion preview… starts now.
Looking at fall fashion trends may seem irrelevant during a tornado, power outage, and all the while on top of a pandemic— I get that, but it can provide a bit of visual entertainment, motivation or at least distraction. (Fall trends: I call this fashion porn). If you are dining outside while temperatures drop from the 90’s to 50’s and below … having a really cool on-trend fashion item for the transition from summer to fall to winter might be just what you need. We all likely ignored on trend spring and summer dressing, but the anticipation of fall fashion (think The-September-Issue of Vogue with it’s 700 + pages) can be really exciting. Below is my full trend report with “shop the look” images and links focused on the more “wearable” trends. If you need a bit of retail therapy, these links should help you find something for F/W 2020 worth spending on. Wearable trends include a bit of plaid or argyle (think school uniform), browns/neutrals and flesh tones, capes (I vote this might be your best pic for outdoor dining!), and knee high boots. “Suiting” is also trending. If you are going back to work, a skirt or pantsuit for daytime is a solid purchase. Three other trends that could be incorporated with wardrobe staples include gloves (COVID-19 friendly for sure!), white dress to wear all year round, and a bit of fringe. For the more daring/fashion forward peeps looking for a really trendy-trend, perhaps grab something equestrian, a dress with big cutouts or a head-to-toe leather ensemble. Stay cool (for those in the heat wave)…. Stay safe (everyone needs masks incorporated into their fall fashion styles of course), and stay tuned for more weekly fashion and lifestyle stories!
